La conférence internationale de la FIAT/IFTA (Fédération internationale des archives de télévision/International Federation of Television Archives) se tiendra à Madrid du 27 au 31 octobre 2006 sous le titre :Saving and sharing our audiovisual heritage. The age of television archives. Les thèmes de l'appel à proposition (qui se terminait le 31 mai 2006) portaient sur :
- Open Archives : legalities, access, charging ; preparing content i.e. catalogue for the internet ; new partnerships for opening up archives - Rights : legal/copyright changes that are likely to come in the future ; how the net will be used to present content to different users in future ; possibility of tracking use of content on the internet ; case studies for freeing up rights
- Spanish archive scene (50th anniversary)
- Evaluation of asset management systems ; business cases
- Future of archivists : changes in the role of the archivist as technology allows more time to be freed up to enable them to use their knowledge of the collection to create new content and to re-present it
- Training for archivists
- Endangered archives : “everything is relative”, where are we now, really ?
- Potential users of media archives and what are their needs?

A noter également : un atelier de travail sur la conservation des archives audiovisuelles organisé par la FIAT/IFTA aura également lieu à Lima (Pérou) en octobre ou en novembre 2006.
